06/02/29/13 - 19 year old Egyptian girl invents ZPE spacecraft propulsion device

 Aisha Mustafa invention - Mustafa’s device is based on a scientific mix between quantum physics, space technology, chemical reactions and electrical sciences.

Mustafa said the inventions generates energy for space vehicles from electric energy formed by Casimir-polder force, which occurs between separate surfaces and objects in a vacuum and by the zero-point energy considered as the lowest state of energy.

The device uses reflective panels for additional force which resembles photovoltaic solar cells. At present, artificial satellites, spacecrafts and space vehicles depend on rocket gas engines that use forced gas at a supersonic speed, or chemical reactions rockets propelled by solid or liquid fuels such as radionuclide or petroleum. Others use electrically propelled probes, which depend on thrusting force via accelerating ions.The physics student at Sohag University told EGYNews agency she has patented the device with Egyptian Academy of scientific Research and Technology (ASRT).

The invention is related to a hypothetical concept of a jet propulsion called “Differential Sail”, theoretically created by NASA’s retired professor Marc G. Millis -- who led NASA breakthrough propulsion physics project.

Dr. Ahmed Fikry, Mustafa’s supervisor, said the invention would be highly beneficial in several fields and areas of industries once adopted.

The 19-year-old says she aims at testing her invention at major scientific research organisations hence the possibility of applying it in upcoming space missions.

The new invention, analysts say, is expected to make space travels, easier, cheaper and faster in future.

Interesting but it looks like it hasn't been tested yet...but I like the differential sail idea....reminds me of TRON where the ships are pushed by radiation pressure over the giant spider plane...

The egyptian invention based on the differential sail is "Analogous to an ideal radiometer vane, a net difference in radiation pressure exists across reflecting and absorbing sides..."

The differential sail would work by absorbing cosmic radiation falling on it from one direction and reflecting the incident radiation from the opposite direction. The imbalance in radiation pressure would push the sail ahead.

It's always about SCALE....interacting with lines of force...the more lines you cross, the greater the effect...thats what my Aether, ZPE and Dielectric Nanostructure Arrays presentation was about.

That's why with a sufficiently large piece (or pieces) of diamagnetic pyrolytic graphite over a wide enough surface area to cross earth magnetic lines, we could actually have flying carpets that stay at one level based on their payload and size.

Attached are some interesting youtubes, back to the future skateboarder, superconducting levitating train and the vacuum airship.

The other cool one is hollow spheres (or other shapes) made of a super strong material like nano-graphite...with all the air sucked out as much as possible for a near perfect vacuum, then seal it so it would float in the air like hollow balls on water!!! Natural buoyancy for lift.

“Let us assume that we have a metal ball, say one foot in diameter. The ball is of tin and we connect it to a vacuum pump which sucks all of the air out of it. However, long before we can do this, something very terrible happens to the tin ball.

When a certain and critical point is reached in the evacuation, an apparently invisible force crushes our tin can and it takes on an appearance very similar to a derby hat that has been sat upon by the heavy man from the circus.

The atmospheric pressure on the outside of the can does this; a pressure that, in the case of a very high vacuum, reaches 14.7 pounds per square inch. So far, we do not have a very cheerful prospect Action of a Hollow Ball But what would happen if we had a metal ball that would be able to withstand this pressure?

The metal ball would float; it would have a great buoyancy, greater by far than it would have if it were filled with helium or hydrogen.

Of course, in assuming this, we must keep in mind the fact the metal ball would have to be very light and very strong. If we had a metal that would meet these specifications, we could have an all-metal, gasless air machine."

Description for the video below;

"This geodesic structure was part of our quest to design the world's first ever vacuum airship capable of flight. The bird remains on the shelf as a paper tiger, but all calculations say she will fly. Never in aviation history has the old idea of a vacuum dirigible ever seen fruition, but modern technology does allow such engineering feats now.

The vacuum airship does present many technical and economic difficulties before it can become a practical aircraft. However, it is unique in the ability to do away with costly helium and dangerous hydrogen in long-duration flight and the continual ballast adjustments required.

Our design work also took into account the economic need to use more simple and affordable vacuum pumps which can only achieve about 85% vacuum (versus more costly and heavy 99%, which would yield greater lift).

Different from hydrogen's danger in airships, vacuum spheres present a great implosion danger on any structural failure, and so that is why the appropriate geodesic is key."

And this unrelated curiosity about a perpetual engine using vacuum and mercury - Mechanics Magazine, March 26, 1842;

"Perpetual motion by a drum with one vertical half in mercury, the other in a vacuum; the drum, I suppose, working round forever to find an easy position. Steam to be superceded; steam and electricity convulsions of nature never intended by Providence for the use of man.

The price of the present engines, as old iron, will buy new engines that will work without fuel and at no expense. Guaranteed by the Count de Predaval, the discoverer."
